Learn about Bumblebee Jasper’s properties, chakras, astrological signs it is connected to, and the benefits you’ll experience by owning this beautiful crystal.
Bumblebee jasper is a very easy crystal to recognize due to its unique coloring, which includes yellow, orange, white, grey, and black banding, which resembles a bumble bee, hence the name.
What is Bumblebee Jasper?
Bumblebee Jasper is a colorful fibrous calcite found in Mount Papandayan, West Java, Indonesia, and is relatively rare due to it being found in this one location.
These stones are found alongside an active volcano that periodically experiences massive eruptions such as the more recent ones in 1998 and 2002.
The distinctive yellow and orange colors are made out of a finely dispersed realgar material and sulfur, while the black is caused by pyrite minerals.
Bumblebee “Jasper” is not a Jasper as it contains no microgranular quartz or cryptocrystalline chalcedony, which are properties of true jasper.
The Indonesian locals have also referred to it as Fumarole Jasper and even Batu Badar Blerang by the local merchants.
